When an emerald necklace crosses his desk, Drew Haviland is reminded of the woman that jilted him ten years ago.  When he buys and returns it to Spencer Wyatt, Drew discovers that several other expensive items are missing from the Wyatt house.  Has Spencer become the money hungry woman he believes or is there another reason?

After her father has a stroke Spencer is determined to complete her father’s dream.  The thought that she might find the Hapsburg Cross has given her father a reason to live.  But now her father wants Drew to accompany Spencer to assist and protect her.  But can Spencer protect her heart from the man that she once wronged and still loves?

THE HAVILAND TOUCH is an edge of the seat ride as Drew and Spencer are on the hunt for the Hapsburg Cross.  Unfortunately they are not the only one!  While working together in such a dangerous situation, Drew and Spencer discover that their love from ten years ago never really died.  In fact it has become much richer as they have both matured and learned to accept themselves more completely.  Ten years ago Drew had been so afraid of scaring Spencer that he never actually showed her his feelings.  Spencer had placed Drew on a pedestal and she ran as she felt that she would never measure up.  Now they have a rich and giving love for each other.

THE HAVILAND TOUCH by Ms. Hooper is a wonderful spin off story showcasing a secondary character introduced in ENEMY MINE.  Drew Haviland, from the moment he appeared in ENEMY MINE, is an utterly intriguing man and this reviewer for one is very glad that he rated his own story.   While a spin off, THE HAVILAND TOUCH stands completely on its own merits, this reviewer does recommend reading both books simply because they are such a joy to devour.
