Aradia Lykopis wants to rescue her Amazeen warriors
who have been captured. Her
journey leads her to Lord Jaelan Ben-Ashaman.
She learns he is the ShadowLord.
He wields power and influence.
She wants him to travel with her and save her friends.
Jaelan has suffered in his life.
He recognizes Aradia as the woman of his dreams.
This is the opportunity to keep her with him and as exchange for
his help; she must stay with him as his mate.
This is the first book of the ShadowWind series.
The characters are vivid and the storyline complex.
It is set in a world where the men have all the power and the
woman have none. A world where women can be sold as chattel at a man’s
pleasure. There is
never a slow moment in her books and this is no different.
Aradia is a strong and beautiful woman.
She stands her ground and gives as good as she gets.
Jaelan is a tortured hero who has found what his heart and soul
desire. This was the woman
who had saved him once and he wants her.
These two are wonderfully developed and the reader is drawn into
their story. There
are many secondary characters within this book and this reviewer is sure
we will see some of them in the next one.
If you have read the author’s previous books, you
know she is at her best when she puts her lead protagonists through the
ringer. There is
pain, suffering and ultimately, love.
The reader will experience the full gamut of emotions.
She will wring every emotion out of the reader and leave the
reader exhausted. She accomplishes this and builds the expectation for
the next book. The
ShadowLord is brimming with emotions and the ending leaves the reader
hanging – waiting impatiently for the next installment. This is a
superb beginning to her new saga.
