Kate Neeson is hot on the trail of a story - who really was responsible for the death of popular Irish folksinger Moruadh. Convincing her editor to send her to Ireland to interview the prime suspect, Moruadh’s husband Niall Maguire, had taken all her powers of persuasion, but now that she was here, did she want to find out the whole truth?
Niall Maguire is as enigmatic as his world-famous photographs; a study in contradictions that has Kate questioning her belief in his guilt. From the moment he steps out of the mist in front of her car, there is but one outcome - but the way forward is fraught with intrigue.
When another young woman turns up missing, all eyes turn to Niall. Can Kate help clear the man she is beginning to care for from not one, but two suspicious accidents? Should she? Or will she be the next victim?
This book is a fascinating picture of life in rural Ireland. For those restrained by budget from visiting in person, it fills a bit of the gap. The romance is hot and steamy, and the reader finds it easy to root for Kate and Niall.
The surrounding characters are all well drawn, which is one of the indicators this reviewer looks for in a good book. The setting is almost alive on its own, and Niall’s castle is a hideaway to dream of.
This book has it all - spunky American heroine, brooding Irish hero, mystery, murder, mayhem... romance to sigh over... truly an excellent read.
For anyone who loves compassionate heroes and sympathetic heroines, THE MAN ON THE CLIFF is well worth looking up.
