Going to the high school dance without a date was okay. But when you have to attend a high school dance again with an imaginary fiance  --- who has to be real this time, that’s something altogether different. The problem is that Taylor Gayle is not your typical woman. No, for her she is on the prowl for a man to date --- just date --- nothing more. That was until a man name Max Stuart got the ad she ran all mixed up.

With only a couple weeks left to get a fiance for herself, Taylor Gayle has succumbed to place an ad in The Town Crier. Thinking that this would be easy, the plan was just to go out with six guys and pick the lucky man for the date. Ever since the editor of the Town Crier got her ad mistyped she has been getting callers from SWM into SM replying to her ad. Since he goofed up there was a retraction and NOW this is where the story really starts to get exciting, this reviewer thinks. Now every male caller is going to her home to reply to the ad. This time it was not Max’s fault about the typo but the typesetter who added her address into the ad. When things could not get worse for Taylor, Max the gentleman that he is, pretended to be her husband just to protect her from some of these men. Though he is a gentleman Taylor cannot help feel an attraction towards him that is surprisingly shocking to her. Though he goofed up on her ad he seems to be a great guy in addition sexy to her that explains the attraction she feels whenever he is around her. For a woman who just wanted an imaginary fiance Taylor sure got her real glance of what an engagement life with Max would be like. The thing is now that she saw that kind of engagement moment, she wants more of it than just a couple of weeks.

Max Stuart CEO to Niftee Toys has had his brush with marriage to really scare him from it for good. Only thing is that messing up a woman’s ad can change all that the insecurities he had about marriage and love. Meeting Taylor Gayle and mixing up her ad was not a good way to start a courtship between them. Now when his messed up ad brings all kind of men to her apartment he feels somewhat responsible for the trouble he brought to her. Only way to make it right was pretending to be her husband. Though in his mind it felt like a good idea the more he spends time with Taylor is something that is making him feel all mushy inside. Though he is weary of marriage and never grasped the idea of falling in love Taylor is the right woman to steer him clear from bachelorhood forever. Can a personal ad really bring in a love that you never had before? It sure can if you believe in yourself and the possibilities that come with it.

Male Wanted by Betty Jo Schuler is an ad that every woman wants to place. Though sometimes we chicken out, only one woman named Taylor Gayle had the guts to go through it all the way. Though her agenda was just to date a guy and pretend he is her fiance for one little homecoming dance she never thought it would snowball on her. The ad was simple, SWF looking for SWM to date, that was the plan but of course Max had to mess it up and put SWF looking for SWM to mate. Though Max means well it is he who seems to have mixed up her life more. Taylor Gayle, to this reviewer, reminds me of an ugly duckling. She has this beautiful twin whom everybody paid more attention to than her. She is just trying to establish her identity and find a little love in between. Max is like a disaster waiting to happen. Instead of everything that Midas touches gold everything Max touch is either burning up or breaking. The more he tries it's as if he is showing Taylor how goofy he is instead of the easy-going man he is. With Betty Jo Schuler’s writing and imagination this is one romantic comedy you do not want to miss. From the beginning you are laughing and happy in the ending that love is possible even with a little help called the Personals.
