In 13th Century Hungary, Lucien Korvina came face to face with an evil that would destroy his entire world. His village destroyed, his family dead, he gives up after being left for dead. The queen of the revenant, Sibyllene, hears his pleas for death yet instead of death, makes him One with the Blood and one of her Princes of the Revenants.

Khamisin has no idea who her parents are not nor where she came from. The great war of 2052 wiped out much of civilization and what survived either is in hiding or trying to survive. Captured by Lucien’s men, she fights against what she perceives as evil. Fighting for her life, she learns what she perceives isn’t always truth and she falls in lust then in love with Lucien. Feeling alive with feelings thought dead for a long time, Lucien has to deal with treachery from all around as Sibyllene’s agenda that may tear them apart.

Lucien’s Khamisin is an interesting, if at times slow, vampire story that will either leave the reader scratching their heads or rooting for Lucien and Khamisin. This reviewer thought Ms. Boyette-Campo did an exceptional job telling Lucien’s back-story and how he became a revenant prince. His character development was interesting quite complex. Khamisin was the perfect foil for this dark and dangerous character. Pure in heart, she leds him from the dark and towards a love that he thought he wouldn’t find again.  The characters connect but only after several chapters go by and the reader will be rooting for them to hurry it up a little as the pace to get there is a little slow.  The flow of the book was interesting and at times quite entertaining. Some secondary characters were able to move the story along nicely when it slowed a little. Ms. Boyett-Compo did a nice try in creating a world where the worlds as we know it is gone, magical and mystical beings are the dominant and humans are the minority. This reviewer felt it could have been a little more expanded but overall was a delightful tale that will keep the reader enchanted to the end. Lucien’s Khamisn is a great story to read on a cool summer night to warm the blood up for a rousing time.
