Rhage, or Hollywood as he is called for movie star looks, is well known for his voracious appetites for sex and violence.  So far overabundances of these vices are the only way Rhage has found to appease his Beast.  In his heart however, Rhage envies his Brothers who have found love with their shellans.  When he meets Mary though her voice is enough to sooth his Beast.

Mary Luce is a fighter.  She has fought and beat back leukemia once before.  But it has taken its toll.  Mary is unable to even imagine someone like Rhage being interested in her.   But she cannot resist having a shoulder to lean on when she discovers that her leukemia has returned.

J.R. Ward has done it again with LOVER ETERNAL!  Readers who enjoyed the first book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood will absolutely adore LOVER ETERNAL.  Readers are once again immersed in the world of the Brotherhood.  This time the featured player is Rhage.  He is one of the most tormented of the brothers.  Rhage has been cursed with the Beast.  When he is injured or afraid Rhage changes into a dragon that does not recognize friend from foe.  This has caused Rhage to become very controlled in his emotions.  When he first hears Mary’s voice Rhage and his Beast are immediately attracted and soothed.  He might just have met the one woman who could be trusted with his heart.

Mary is a survivor who has no illusions left about herself and is very cynical about the human race.  When she first meets Rhage, Mary can not believe that he is honestly interested in her.  It takes time and a lot of patience for her to become convinced that Rhage actually loves her for herself.

LOVER ETERNAL is an engrossing read however some readers might take exception to intentional misspellings of names.  Ms. Ward takes us much deeper into the culture of the vampire.  Readers also get the chance to revisit secondary characters that are introduced in DARK LOVER.  This reviewer highly recommends LOVER ETERNAL and the entire series.  Get your copy today!
