Sarah Hatfield feels like she does not need a man in her life and in fact, she hates sex.  She has never had a real orgasm, and doesn’t see what other women are wowed over.  Sarah feels sex is for men, and for creating babies.  When she finds out her father is getting married, she figures it must be about sex, but never imagines the news he will drop on her, when she arrives home for the wedding.  When she finds out, she goes a bit crazy and announces to her father that she is pregnant.

Jacob “Jake” Trent gets pushed into taking Sarah to her father’s wedding to lend support.  When she announces to him that she intends to get pregnant by him, he is taken aback.  Though he finds himself attracted to Sarah, he fears for their friendship if they take things a step farther.  Somehow things progress and Sarah ends up pregnant.  Unsure of what to do, they bungle their way though a relationship and find themselves in deeper than either expected.

LIKE A VIRGI  LIKE A VIRGIN has to be the funniest novel I have read in a long time!  This reviewer laughed, cried and rejoiced with the characters as they went through the trials of life.  Sarah comes alive as a wonderful heroine who needs the right man to make her enjoy being a woman.  Finding out about your parents’ sex life is never a positive experience, but Carol Schede has turned it into a humorous event for readers of LIKE A VIRGIN.  As a major secondary character, Sarah and Jake’s friend Nell, brings an outlook to the book that is unique and creative.  Her methods for choosing wedding dresses and planning weddings will make every married woman rejoice that their day was less of a fiasco!
