Rival antiquities experts Tyler St. James and Kane
Pendleton have clashed over objects they were both after. They consider themselves to be honorable enemies.
Now they are both after a priceless gold chalice.
And their acquaintanceship has stepped up as they have partnered
to get the chalice. Working so closely together, other emotions come sneaking out
surprising them both.
ENEMY MINE penned by Kay Hooper starts out with a
bang, literally, with Tyler and Kane climbing the side of a cliff trying
to escape a sniper. With
such a dramatic beginning the reader is hooked from the get go and never
comes up for air. The
pacing in the book is wonderful going from tension to humor just when
the reader feels that they need to relax for a moment.
While not what the reader expects from Kay Hooper as it is not a
paranormal suspense novel; none the less ENEMY MINE is superbly written
and this reviewer is definitely looking forward to more from Ms. Hooper
in this genre.
The main characters, Tyler and Kane, jump off the
pages of this book. They
are so realistic that one expects to meet them at the local bar and
grill. Ms. Hooper does a wonderful job of going into Tyler’s
background explaining just what made her as she is.
This reviewer only wishes that she had done the same with Kane.
He is such a fascinating character and it would be interesting to
learn more about him. Whether
they are fighting, playing or loving each other, they are obviously
meant to be together. This
reader felt like cheering when they realized it themselves.
ENEMY MINE comes very highly recommended by this
reviewer for anyone who likes their romance spiced up with interesting
locations and danger. Run out today and get your own copy!
