Through high school, Julie had a crush on one of
her teachers. She loved how he taught and looked. The tests she always
took proved how perfect they were for one another. Now that she is
grown, a career woman, and is mature, she is ecstatic when a chance
meeting has come for her. One thing she realized was that she was not
going to lose him again. In school, she was immature and could not do
anything, but now she is determined to make him hers. Men have come and
gone, but only one man has always been in her mind. Marc Johnson might
have been a teacher but now he is going to be hers. As an accountant,
Julie was taught to work with numbers and study everything possible.
With Marc, she will not only study him, but also find out what makes him
tick and what dark secrets he has in him. Secrets that are making him
pull away from a future they could possibly have.
Marc Johnson has a secret one that can determine
his future relationship with Julie Gates. When he taught her in school,
she was always a confused and immature girl. Now he has second thoughts,
as she is his accountant. A person who came to class with a different
hairstyle did not seem the right person for his bookkeeping. Julie
cannot figure out why Marc hates her or treats her badly. No matter how
bad he treats her, Julie knows he is her man. He might not think so, but
her test proves how right they are for one another. The Attraction
Factor quiz has always been right for her, and will prove to Marc that
she is not just a girl, but a woman all the way.
The past keeps coming back for Marc no matter how
hard he tries to hide it. With Julie, he feels something that he thought
was lost. He knows it’s not right to fall in love with her, but she
gets to him as no other woman has done. As she continues to work with
him and his papers, he starts getting closer to her. The only thing
Julie knows for sure is that there is definitely an attraction between
them. One thing disappointing about this book was that there wasn’t
that much sizzle between Marc and Julie. It was like a two dimensional
romance. They would talk and sometimes make love, but this reviewer
didn’t feel heat. The attraction factor showed they were compatible,
but somehow it didn’t liven up their attraction in bed. Above all, it
was a nice romance for readers.
The Attraction Factor is a test that proves how
right Julie Gates and Marc Johnson are for one another. Cathy
McDavid’s latest brings the phrase to mind that some girl tests are
right. Which proves that the test Julie took is still dear to her as she
reminisces about how right Marc is for her. True to the book, there is
of course romance, and the secrets revealed most of all, a woman’s
determination not to lose her man a second time. Julie has problems of
her own that include a brother who is rebelling slowly, and a man who
keeps entering her thoughts. Marc is a man who has to deal with his past
in order to have a life with Julie. Before these characters can make a
go at it, they have to overcome so many obstacles to learn that they are
meant to be with each other. Now this reviewer is waiting for another
Cathy McDavid novel, for this one shows a writer with great writing
imagination and characters that come to life once you start reading
them.
