New school teacher Grace Collin relishes her position at Fairview School and hopes to make an impact on the lives of the children in the tiny hamlet in 1946.   She is particularly charmed by first-time student Emmy Lou Slayton.  When Emmy Lou misses several days of school, Grace decides to make a home visit.  There, she meets Cody Slayton, Emmy Lou’s uncle, and is immediately overwhelmed by an inexplicable attraction to Cody.  The bond between them is immediate and sizzling.  Will these two star-crossed lovers find their way to each other in ANOTHER TIME, ANOTHER PLACE

Barri Bryan, the husband and wife writing team Herb and Billie Houston, has written an intriguing little twist on a love for all time type of story.  Most of the tale is set in the present and gives the reader the idea that it will follow along the traditional lines of girl meets boy, falls in love and lives happily ever after, but Barri Bryan has turned that supposition on its ear here!  This tale does a good job of combining the past and present settings in the story.  However, this reviewer got somewhat lost in the transition, and found herself re-reading to see if some vital details were overlooked.  Alas, those details just were not present, and that detracted from this reviewer’s overall enjoyment of the book.  Just a simple transition scene with some background detail about how these two lovers were bound for all time and how the other characters were involved would have lifted the rating by at least one star.  It is a testament to the writing ability of this team that this brief story is rated as highly as it is.  This reviewer looks forward to reading more by Barri Bryan and recommends them highly!
