Amaya Mayberry is a lovely young woman searching for her direction in life after losing her beloved grandfather, Barney MacTavish.  Upon discovering that he has left her a fabulous inheritance, Amaya sets out to discover her place in life.  Grandfather has built her dream castle, known as Amaya’s Keep, and it comes complete with a staff and the building supervisor, Tyler MacGregor.  Tyler had been a close friend of Barney’s, having met him in their native Scotland.  Barney had entrusted Tyler with many secrets, not the least of them being how to make all of Amaya’s dreams come true.  What Tyler could not have known beforehand was how attractive he would find Amaya.

As they embark on the undertaking of opening Amaya’s Keep as a fantasy themed hotel, Tyler and Amaya find themselves fighting their mutual attraction while becoming more entangled in the mysterious happenings at the Keep.  Is there some mystical connection that allows guests to see and feel things that they normally would not?  Would the sometimes strange goings-on prevent the Keep from being the financial and emotional success Amaya desperately needs it to be?

Amaya and Tyler are well-written characters who possess a great deal of appeal and are realistically portrayed.  Their love scenes are tenderly written and portray the longing that these two feel toward each other.  The secondary characters provide both humor and necessary depth to the story.  While the premise of the tale requires the reader to somewhat suspend their normal belief system, it is not beyond what could be termed realistic.  This reviewer best likens Amaya’s Keep to a modern day fairy tale, complete with magical happenings.  Although Amaya and Tyler’s story is the main focus, several other secondary characters find loves of their own.  This reviewer found herself engrossed in this fascinating tale and looks forward to other efforts by Mrs. McGillivray.  Any reader who enjoys sweet romances with hints of fairy-tale magic and some spice will love this fine story.  This reviewer certainly did!
