Jaxine Daniels’ A HARD PLACE TO FIND is a sweet love story interwoven with adventure, excitement and mystery.

Chris Gabriel left his career as a JAG attorney to join the ranks of the more straightforward and highly ethical pararescue jumpers.  When an old love shows up unannounced looking for a place to stay for a few days without anyone knowing her whereabouts, Chris reluctantly agrees to help her.  The next thing Chris knows, her husband is found dead in his apartment, the woman has disappeared and Chris is the prime suspect.  Caught between keeping a promise and his desire to stay out of prison, Chris and his JAG attorney, Claire Janova, must unravel the mystery of the missing houseguest and her recently murdered husband before Chris and Claire can have any hope of a future together.

The third book in Jaxine Daniels’ PJ series, A HARD PLACE TO FIND, is a wonderfully depicted story of honor and integrity, romance and murder.  Like the other stories in Ms. Daniels’ PJ series, the focus is on a group of five pararescue jumpers, the difficulties their career presents for them and the relationships they form.  A HARD PLACE TO FIND is Chris’ story, and like the other books in this series, the military setting lends a fast-paced edge to the tale that immediately hooks readers by their patriotic heartstrings.

Chris Gabriel is everything that is good and honorable and heroic.  Claire can not help but want to ease his worries.  As tensions mount between Chris and his PJ team because of the secrets he promised to keep for an old friend, so too does the sexual tension build between Chris and Claire.  The passionate scenes between these two characters are beautifully written, yet leave enough to the imagination that this reader would not fear embarrassment passing this book on to her mother to enjoy.

The mystery surrounding Chris’ surprise houseguest and the ensuing murder add an air of intrigue throughout the story that combines well with the inherent risk and adventure of the pararescue jumpers’ day to day life.  Jaxine Daniels has a wonderful talent for bringing real emotion to her books that will please fans of all romantic genres.

This reader found Jaxine Daniels’ A HARD PLACE TO FIND, a thoroughly beautiful and intriguing read and looks forward to the next book in the series.
