Imagine your mother is an erotic fiction author who needs you in her latest research. A research that needs you to surf the endless online dating personals and find out what they think including a live date with the person. Well, that is exactly how Monique St. Cyr’s life is going on at the moment. All her life she has been the blunt of her mother's research tactics. In every one she is either being shot at, dumped, or ended up with a broken heart. Though her mother has her best interest, there are times when she just wants to tell her to shove it. NO offense to mothers but having one like she has is sure leaving some sore points in her love life. Whenever someone is at least interested in Monique, they are afraid of what her mother writes. Now when she gets a bunch of emails from guys that want to get to know her, there is one man who is right for her. Only problem is that whenever they see each other, he is bailing her out or witnessing her most embarrassing moments. Now this guy is the one man who might be her downfall but can also mean a life that she never thought she would have. Sure her mother keeps butting in her life and her job could be on the line. Now she has to deal with a man that could be her downfall in life but also her love life.

Jake Dube, a man of the law, has had his share of heartbreak with a woman before. To him he thinks his heart will not be able to take it again with a woman like Monique St. Cyr. On a chance of meeting a wonderful woman in the love personals he never thought he would meet the woman of his dreams. She is everything he has been searching for: beautiful, honest (well a little truth be told) and most of all easy to talk to about mundane things. Jake never thought he would be able to love again after his last love but as things go everything changes in this world. Not only falling head over heels with her, it is up to Monique if she wants to take a life with him. Can a police officer and a woman insecure of love really be good for each other?

GETTING PERSONAL, a tale about chances, risks, and love is all this story cracks up to be. Diane Amos debut novel is a romance that everybody wants to read from the characters to the ways Monique keeps being busted. This reviewer loved that it just kept going, never getting boring, to the point where this reviewer became disappointed it ended already. From the beginning it captures your attention from Monique’s mothers insistent badgering for help in her research, to Monique’s bird whose mind is always on sex. Diane Amos’s writing skills surely show in this wonderful romance from its comedy flair of making you laugh as this reviewer did, and this reviewer fell in love with the characters from this story. This author is going to go far with her superb writing skills and flair for keeping the attention of romance readers.
