This reviewer found that UNSPOKEN PROMISES is a poignant look into the life of pioneers, the hardships, and difficulties they encountered on their journey to a better life.  For Mollie Andersen these difficulties meant walking through scorching desserts without water, washing clothes in a river, and adjusting to cooking over open fires.  The arduous tasks Mollie undertook made her character formidable and provided an excellent visual for the reader.  Her motherly instincts settle her fears somewhat of adjusting to this new place and the bond between Mollie and Ford’s children is forged and inseparable with a bound commitment to protect them from the dangers of the rough journey. 

Ford’s character, depicted as a strong leader, provided an engaging portrait of what a man expected from his woman regardless of the time.  This reader truly loved how he embraced that Mollie was not from his era, was willing to teach her their ways, and the tender display of protectiveness he demonstrates towards her.  He became everything Mollie needed and wanted captivating her heart instantly.
