Gabrielle ‘Gaby’ Cody kills.
She kills demons. To most people they look like regular people but God
has given her the ability to see what is inside. It is a divine
obligation that doesn’t leave her the time or the inclination for a
regular life.
Detective Luther Cross finds
himself attracted to Gaby beyond any rhyme or reason. He offers her
what she has never had - tenderness and love. But does she dare accept
or will he interfere with her God given mission?
Dark, gritty, raw, and not at
all easy to digest, SERVANT: THE AWAKENING by L.L. Foster offers
the reader the opportunity to wallow in urban fantasy at its finest. As
can be expected from the darker alter ego of Lori Foster, L.L. Foster
delivers characters that are engaging yet in your face. Gaby has never
had companions or friends so she is terrified of letting anyone get
close to her. So terrified that she is will do her best to run them
off, up to and including physically beating the crap out of them.
Luther, however is more then her equal and he just doesn’t give up even
though one has to wonder at times just why he puts up with Gaby. And
let us not forget Mort, Gaby’s scrawny landlord who is so determined to
be her friend and take care of her that he keeps coming back for more
abuse. One has to wonder where these men come from. This reviewer
doesn’t know of any man who would take what Gaby gives out and still
come back for more.
This reviewer highly recommends
SERVANT: THE AWAKENING by L.L. Foster to any reader like herself
that devours urban fantasy. This looks to be the beginning of a really
great series. Get your copy today and get in on the ground floor.
