Grace has a
wonderful man. Michael is the love of her life and she couldn’t be
happier. Well, she could, if only her family would accept him. You
see, Grace comes from an Italian catholic family, and Michael is Irish
and a bit of an agnostic. He is a scientist and is working in the gene
department, which Grace’s family is very much against. So, for now,
Grace goes to her family without Michael and Michael has to accept
this. Grace hopes that one day they will see how wonderful Michael
really is. Then tragedy happens and Michael is diagnosed with cancer,
and a very special trip changes their entire lives and they find out
that a very special miracle changes not only their lives but also
everyone’s around them.
The first thing
you need to get before you read this book is a box of tissues. This is
emotion packed but without being mushy or clichéd. Ms. Frank has given
her reader a very down to earth, gritty story of real life with a good
dose of faith thrown in. Her characters are multi-dimensional, the plot
is well paced and interesting and once the reader starts this book she
will not be able to put it down. This reviewer enjoyed this book
enormously. Ms. Frank tells not only a really good story, she has
brought up some rather touchy subjects and dealt with them in a very
straight forward, sometimes humorous way that doesn’t preach at the
reader at all. Altogether a wonderful, heart-warming tale that this
reviewer can highly recommend.
