MaryAnn, a counselor for
battered women, has a fulfilling life with no time for arrogant men who
feel that they are the law unto themselves. So why does she feel such
grief when a man that she has only seen once has died. Why can she
remember that glimpse so clearly?
When Manolito De La Cruz rises
from the ground all he knows is that he has found his lifemate yet he
can’t recall her name or what she looks like. Vampires surround him
trying to get him to join them, and his brothers are trying to trick him
by telling him that he doesn’t have a lifemate. What is real and what
isn’t? All he knows is that he can only trust his lifemate.
DARK POSSESSION by
Christine Feehan takes us once again into the lives of a Carpathian and
their lifemates. This time however she has thrown in a twist where not
even the Carpathian knows what is real or even what world he is in. The
reader will straddle the line between the worlds with Manolito and this
reviewer has to admit that it makes for some rather confusing and slow
reading at the beginning. Once Manolito starts to pick up on what is
happening, however the pace of the story picks up and becomes
engrossing.
DARK POSSESSION is an
enjoyable book however due to the aforementioned issue this reviewer
would only recommend it to readers who are already familiar with the
Carpathian world. Otherwise the first third of the book won’t make a
lot of sense at all. For followers of the series though, DARK
POSSESSION is well worth adding to their library.
