Paperback
Fiction

Cassandra Moon is literally about to walk down the aisle when she realizes that she has settled for the man she is supposed to marry.  After fleeing the church in the limousine that was supposed to whisk her away after her nuptials, Cassandra gets a little lost, a little drunk and a little wedged into the sunroof of the limo!  Luckily, a man named Hector comes to her rescue.  Hector also happens to know Cassandra’s family, which she had decided to visit to escape the nightmare she left behind.  Cassandra will have to deal not only with the aging relatives she is staying with but also with her jilted fiancé who decides to adopt a whole new look and career in an effort to win her back.

Cassandra is about to have a summer she will never forget as she learns a lot of things about life, love and herself.

THE BIG BEAUTIFUL is captivating!  This reviewer would recommend this book to any woman who has ever been uncomfortable in her own skin.  This reviewer’s favorite thing about this book is that you can watch as Cassandra learns that it is okay to be bigger than a supermodel and that it is possible to fall in love even after everyone has given up hope on you!

Cassandra’s family could be anybody’s family! They are meddlesome, judgmental and always positive that they know what is best for Cassandra! The quirky residents of Salter Path fit right in with the rest of the story and also make Cassandra see that nobody is perfect and everybody has issues.

The setting, Salter Path, North Carolina is very scenic and Ms. Duncan describes it so well that you can feel the ocean spray on your face at times!  Pamela Duncan is a brilliant author who effectively brings the reader into the mindset and surroundings of the characters and makes it feel like home!
