Shannon Miller runs a temp agency and is on her way to meet Dr. Damien Richard to provide him with workers for his current project.  Dr. Richard is blind, but has been working on a new development which he hopes can be used to heal people of incurable diseases.  But, for the moment it needs to be developed for more commercial reasons and he and his team have invented a kind of virtual reality video game.  Lord Night is blind by day but can see by night, his soul has been shattered into crystals which the gamers need to collect.  Isobel is a character programmed to supply Lord Night with all his needs.  The gamers have the opportunity to take over these characters.  In an accident, both Shannon and Damien are sucked into the vortex and the game.  Now they have the option of sitting tight until they are rescued by Damien’s assistants or playing the game.  It’s a game not only for the soul of Lord Night, but for the gamer’s hearts.   

This story is labeled at Samhain as red hot, and this reviewer warns the reader that it is more than red hot!  This is an erotic tale of the highest caliber and will meltdown every reader’s resistance.  The sexual play between Damien and Shannon is sizzling, provocative, sensuous and highly romantic.  These two characters are sucked into a game that not only is adventurous and dangerous, but one that assaults their hearts and souls.  This reviewer found the premise of this story entertaining and refreshing.  Although Ms Verino’s hero is the usual gorgeous, built type, making him also blind adds a touch of the vulnerable.  She gives her characters depth and then puts them into a fantasy in which they get to know each other in ways they may not have been able to in the real world.  As this story comes to an end, the reader will be holding her breath.   Will they?  Won’t they?  Well, dear reader, you will have to get this delightful story and find out for yourself!
