Beatrice,
Lady
Sommerfield is chaperoning her niece,
Emily to a masquerade party
dressed as Artemis.
Gabriel, Marquess of Thayne has
returned to England after many years. He and Artemis share a passionate
tryst. Gabriel
searches for his mystery lover and finds her. How will Gabriel and
Beatrice
handle their relationship?
JUST ONE OF
THOSE FLINGS is the second
book in this trilogy about the “Merry Widows”. If you haven’t read the
first book, “In the Thrill of the Night” the Merry Widows have
decided to embrace their freedom and pursue fulfilling sexual
relationships. Beatrice
is a mature heroine and definitely not a simpering ingénue.
Gabriel
is more than an equal match for her. He is considered a major “catch” and
does more than his fair share of pursuing Beatrice. The author has created
two memorable characters that readers will fall in love with. They are
two adults who find love when they least expect it. It is the unfolding
of their relationship that makes this story sparkle and shine!!!
Although this is
the middle book of a trilogy, it doesn’t let the reader down. It would
not be surprising if it was less interesting as it follows a great first
book but Ms.
Hern succeeds in keeping the high
standards set by “In the Thrill of the Night”. The story moves at
a nice clip and never lags. The characters are fully developed. The
eroticism is in keeping with the story and is never gratuitous. All in
all, it was an extremely enjoyable read and we anxiously look forward to
the next book.
