Freelance journalist Jenny Yuen has a hot assignment, to write about the
fire-fighter calendar competition. She sees many hot hunks on the stage,
but one made her heart beat a little harder. Scott Jackman, also known as
Mr. February, becomes the winner of the competition. Is Scott the man to
fulfil Jenny’s wildest dreams? Will he play by her Fantasy Rules? And
where will her game lead them to?
Ms.
Lyons wrote another fantastic book with HOT IN HERE. Hot is an
understatement for this story, it’s so steamy hot that you have to worry
that the pages will ignite. Better keep you own fire-fighter near you when
you read it. No pun
intended.
As in
the prequel Champagne Rules,
Ms. Lyons main characters come from different cultural backgrounds. The
reader learns the difficulties of being a young Chinese woman in the
Western world and how difficult it is to build a bridge between their new
home and their culture. This reviewer has to congratulate Ms. Lyons about
the way she brings this problem into the spotlight and how subtle she
interweaves the message “To be more open-minded toward the unknown” into
the story. It’s fascinating to see how Jenny fights for her own place in
life and in the end for her love. Both Jenny as well as Scott are very
complex characters, that are well written. They are the perfect match for
each other, it’s a pleasure to see how their casual relationship turns
into something serious!
HOT IN
HERE will definitely
get a special place on this reviewer’s keeper shelves.
This
reviewer can hardly wait to read the stories about the last remaining
members of the Awesome Foursome! Keep your eyes open for them. You don’t
want to miss them.
