Guardian Theryssa
daughter of the Commander of the Guardians and Head of the High Council
has had the benefit of having her biological mother and father throughout
her life. The downside of course, being their daughter she was pushed to
be better than her peers, and nothing she ever did went unnoticed.
Pirate and former
Guardian Azar Xenelion is looking for a reason to continue. When he spots
a craft drifting helplessly in outer space, he knows something is not
right, but does not really care.
The heroine
Theryssa is a dominating force of stubbornness as well as a soldier
trained in hand to hand contact and defense against torture. Azar has had
very similar training but he has also has a ruthlessness that takes
Theryssa’s breath and strips away her careful control, showing the needy
submissive hiding inside. Can Azar be enough of a Dominant for her or
will she escape his clutches.
With another
addition to the More Than Male Series,
Azar’s Prize, Reese
Gabriel opens a new look into being a pirate and makes you wonder whether
being his captive is really a bad thing or not. The scenery is detailed,
the characters visible in readers minds, and her description of the toys
the captain uses leave no doubt as to what they are and the fact he knows
them intimately.
Parts of the story
leave you gripping the edge of your seat with their intensity, while
others felt forced and missing something. The hero is swashbuckling and a
little submissive’s dream. The heroine is so opposite in her actions and
thoughts that she makes you wonder who she truly is.
This reviewer
hopes the next heroine Reese Gabriel creates is easier to follow and
realizes when to stop fighting and just love.
