Since being sired a
year ago, Bethany has been miserable. She is sickened by the vampire
culture and her need for blood. Unable to do the bidding of her cruel
sire, Aphrodite, she had been forced to leave the lair. Bethany is a
dismal failure of her species; now forced to attend the yearly Vampire
Rave, Bethany is slated for destruction in the annual culling.
Troy, a Kinsman of
one hundred fifty years, has attended many of these gatherings, but has
never before decided to intervene with the destruction of an offspring.
But Bethany is different somehow, and he will do what he must to save
her. When Troy rescues, then claims her, she begins her lavish new life
and education. But Aphrodite will not give up what is hers without a
fight. Embracing her vampire nature may be Bethany’s only chance for
survival.
Always
is a sensual tale of awakening passion blended with the violence of the
vampire culture Amanda Sidhe has created. Bethany is an intelligent and
sensitive heroine that has been thrust into a violent culture that she can
not understand nor embrace; although she had never felt that she was part
of the human culture either. But her survival instinct is strong and she
fights for what she believes in.
Troy is a reserved
hero who allows his emotions to guide him. This reviewer very much
enjoyed the passion and rapport between the hero and heroine. Though this
story is not highly erotic, the author creates an environment of sexual
tension that drives the characters throughout the book. The action is
fast paced and readers will be pulled along as the tension mounts and
Bethany and Troy are forced to take action. Readers looking for a fast,
sensual read with an edge will appreciate
Always by Amanda Sidhe.
