Supervisor Daniel
“Duke” Marion has been enlisted by the Department of Domestic Terrorism to
help bring in a terrorist who has been wanted for over seventeen years, a
terrorist who was Duke’s childhood best friend. Bruno Guy is supposed to
be ready to turn himself in, but only to Duke. But the plan goes awry when
Duke saves the life of a Hollywood star at the dinner to honor her, the
place where Bruno was supposed to
make contact with Duke. Now Duke
is facing an investigation for manslaughter.
The threat of death
of thousands looms ever closer unless
Duke
can connect with Bruno. Duke must find out whom he can trust when he is
faced with so called helpers who have politically motivated ulterior
motives.
Don’t sit back and
relax with this book, or you will never be able to keep up! The action is
fast paced, coming quick and hard.
WHERE THE LIES BEGIN
will never be called a boring or slow paced read.
Author
Robert Levinson has not only woven an intricate tale of intrigue, but has
penned a cast of characters that the reader can sink their teeth into.
This reviewer was drawn in right away, however the reader must keep on
their toes in order to keep the array of characters straight in their
mind. This reviewer found this to be a problem from time to time and had
to skip back towards the front of the book to place a character. This did
draw this reader out of the action and was a cause of aggravation.
However, it is a relatively minor aggravation when one takes in all of the
positive aspects of this tale. Duke is an amazingly brilliant character.
This reader connected to him and felt empathy for his situation. He is
trying to do his best for so many people; his best friend Bruno, Bruno’s
mother, the public he serves and save his own hide at the same time. Mr
Levinson has an amazing talent for developing a character that is multi
dimensional, and totally human, someone that the reader can really relate
to.
WHERE THE LIES BEGIN
will keep the reader guessing if Duke will get himself out of his
situation and just how he plans to manage it. Twists and turns abound in
this tale that is not a yawn. Enjoy!!
