Ex-FBI agent turned
Private Detective Max Austin is called in on a strange murder
investigation. The prime suspect is David, the son of a friend of Max’s.
Kyle suddenly drops to the ground and dies when he and David were walking
to Kyle’s car after a meeting of the owners of the computer software
company developing security programs that they have sold to an array of
companies, including government agencies. During Max’s investigation, two
more of the six partners are killed in equally mysterious ways. Max must
solve the case before any more of the young men are killed.
Hold on to the edge
of your seats because you are in for one heck of a bumpy ride! YEEE-HAWW!!!
MAX UNLOCKS THE UNIVERSE explores a bit of the ins and outs of
Internet and computer security. Thank goodness author
Mark Bouton has a talented
pen that gives detail without being boring or this reader wouldn’t have
ever understood half of what was being said. But with the action and
intrigue, maybe understanding of these details isn’t really necessary. But
the thought “could this happen in
real life?” kept popping into this reader’s mind while reading MAX
UNLOCKS THE UNIVERSE. How scary is that?
Max has his hands
full. And the twists and turns that Mr. Bouton takes the reader through
let us see just how much. Who to trust is a key question that Max must
keep in mind and the answers just might be a bit of a surprise…ok, an out
and out shock. Just when Max thinks he has it all figured out, things
really spin out of control. Gotta love that in a good mystery book.
One of the things
that this reader really liked about MAX UNLOCKS THE UNIVERSE is
that Max is a multi dimensional character. Mr. Bouton gives the reader a
look into all of aspects of Max’s life, including Binga, Max’s loyal dog.
This is the second MAX book of Mr. Bouton’s that this reader has
read, and it is this reviewers opinion that they just keep getting better
and better. Don’t hesitate to purchase MAX UNLOCKS THE UNIVERSE. It
is a very worthwhile read and one that will find a place on this reader’s
keeper shelf.
