Gabriel, master of
her own clan of vampires watches over the humans and her first choice,
Childe Erik caught her as much by surprise as it did him. However
unwillingly she felt compelled to make him hers. Only later when she
knows he has become a master in his own right and must force him to build
his own clan does she realize the extent of her feelings and need for
him.
Erik could not
believe it when he found her lying in a pool of her own blood willing to
just lay there and die. Angry with her for her weakness and with himself
for his feelings for her resurfacing he owes her his life and nothing she
can say or do will change that.
This reviewer
have found this series in which the author uses the same version of
vampires hard to follow and read, but this edition was more confusing than
some of the others. This reviewer found too much jumping from one thing
to the next. The repetitiveness of the same scene told from one person
then the same thing told from the other made the story hard to concentrate
on.
Of course the
author Kallysten was once more descriptive in her scenery and characters
but whatever emotions we should have felt between the two was lost in the
way their story was told. This reviewer has enjoyed other versions of her
vampires and believe this feeling of disappointment is only due to the
series and not the author herself.
