Romantic Suspense

Kara Hughes, a beautiful but very work orientated woman, comes to work early as usual.  She notices one of the mail boys who is also unusually early with some documents from one of the other firms in the building.  She stops him from taking them out of the building and suddenly there are masked men coming in, taking the files and in the scuffle she gets a look at one of them and then is consequently kidnapped.  Her kidnapper is someone she should know, she’s seen him in the building before, and he works there.  Fearing for her life, she soon realizes that he isn’t going to harm her, in fact he is being very gentlemanly, kind, even considerate.  While he goes off to work, she prowls his apartment looking for clues about this attractively strange man and wonders if he isn’t really a knight in shining armor.  Geoff Bernard is a man with a mission and Kara just became a complication that he would rather have had at another time.  Sparks fly between them, attraction and lust, but he can’t get distracted from his mission.

This reviewer has just had one of the greatest reads of this month.  Jennifer Cloud takes her reader on a breathtaking ride full of tight-paced action, high caliber adventure and a love story to melt the heart.  Her characters leap off the pages.  She gets not only into the heads of the hero and heroine, but the villains are revealed with uncanny detail.  This is a story of intrigue, betrayal, treachery and lies, all in high places and a hero who is determined to bring down the bad guys even if he might end up in jail himself or worse.  The heroine is cool, smooth with her feathers getting only getting ruffled when the danger is lurking too close and is ready to save her hero with her very life.  The secondary characters are wonderful too and give the story more depth and life.  For the mystery and suspense lover, this reviewer highly recommends you read Glass Towers.  It’s a keeper, a re-read and a story that will not be easily forgotten.  A high-class story, with a wonderful sensuous romance that will thrill the suspense fan.
