Helena
of Rivenloch would do anything to save her younger sister from a marriage
to the enemy, even killing the groom, but when this plan fails she just
kidnaps his second-in-command, Colin du Lac. What Helena did not count on
was that Colin not only knows his way around weapons but that he is also a
charming rogue. The problem is that Colin does not want a warrior wife,
nor does Helena a Norman as her lover. But neither of them can deny their
predestined fate nor the longings of their hearts.
Ms.
McKerrigan wrote with a
Captive Heart a spellbinding novel that will keep you
captivated from the moment you start reading. It’s the story of a young
woman that really would do anything to save not only her family but also
keep her family’s away from the hated Normans. Colin du Lac is absolutely
loyal to his liege lord, so he will do anything keep Helena from killing
him or preventing the impending marriage. At first Colin has quite a
problem with his pride, when he is kidnapped by a mere maid, but soon he
discovers the fun of being held hostage by such a sassy Scottish lass.
Helena
is unlike any lady that Colin met before, because she is an absolute
kick-ass heroine, who knows away around daggers and other weapons.
The
witty dialogues and the sizzling tension between them make the book to a
real keeper. This reviewer has been a long time fan of Ms. McKerrigan’s
books and she was never disappointed by one of her books.
Captive Heart
is the second book of the Warrior Maiden of Rivenloch trilogy and this
reviewer recommends reading Lady Danger, the first
book of the trilogy, prior to reading
Captive Heart.
This
reviewer can highly recommend
Captive Heart to
all fans of sassy & stubborn heroines and to die for heroes!
