Katriona Joy
Enforcer of Law knew pretty boy Senior Mediator Javier Trey would be a
severe pain in her side the moment she caught him speeding. Now on a
remote base in the middle of the desert, he has become even more of a
problem.
Javier Trey could
not believe it when the female officer pulled him over, and he was even
more surprised when she actually gave him a ticket. Enjoying her spunk,
he decides to speed down the same stretch of desert, only to find his
feisty officer no longer there.
Beyond Lust takes place in the
future, during 2254 when most women have become infertile and only the
Indians living on one of the last reservations of the planet are still
having babies. These extraordinary women are now guarded for the
treasures they truly are, protected from pirates and other people. The
hero Javier and the heroine Katriona are there to keep them safe.
Mary Wine has a
creative imagination, her scenery is vivid with many details and thoughit
the reader will feel compelled by the author to see everything from her
view. Ms Wine provides a background for this story that feels very real,
although some of the description is a little tedious. With Indian
heritage being the focal point for this story, it gives you a glimpse into
their possible lifestyle.
The characters are
well rounded to the point that this reviewer felt herself getting angry
with both the heroine and hero over their stupidity and sheer
stubbornness. However the emotions are portrayed to where you tell
yourself that the people in this story have enough emotion to be real. The
land and people are described with such detail that it’s impossible not to
believe they will one day exist.
Though the language
and sayings are a little hard to comprehend the overall English is easy
for the reader to understand, with common phrases thrown into the story.
