It's a masquerade party on All
Hallow's Eve and Miranda Carter is tied to the guild, literally, in her
costume. Her client is throwing the party to celebrate the restoration
of an old plantation. Miranda wants nothing more than to back out of the
party; feeling like a fool all dressed up isn't her idea of fun. But her
best friend convinces her it's for the best.
During the party Miranda meets a
masked man who wants to rock her world. Who is she to say no when she
hasn't been with a man in a very long time? When she realizes this
masked man is her client she's hesitant to continue the night. But is he
really her client or is he a ghost from the past waiting to be kissed by
his princess charming?
Halloween brought hordes of books to
read this year and MASQUE OF DESIRE was one that this reviewer
found intriguing. Ms. Ruttan provided this reader with elements
of paranormal, suspense history and let's not forget the hot sex.
This reviewer struggled with the
heroine not recommending a condom. In this day and age of practiced safe
sex, this reviewer found it hard to believe that Miranda would have
unprotected sex with a complete stranger.
Alek, the hero was dashing, sexy and
desirable to say the least. Ms. Ruttan did a marvelous job recreating an
eighteenth century feeling. This reviewer felt like she was transported
back in time from the vivid descriptions.
This reviewer really enjoyed reading
MASQUE OF DESIRE and it's a quickie so it can be read in one
sitting. Overall this reviewer would recommend this book to any lover of
the paranormal.
