Laurell K. Hamilton is
back with the sixth book in her incredibly popular Meredith Gentry
series, A LICK OF FROST, and like the other books in this series,
it is filled with a magical mix of mystery, deception, duplicity and
dark desires.
Princess Meredith
NicEssus has been in a race for the Unseelie throne for several books
now and has battled just about everything that goes bump in the night
along the way with her battalion of royal fey guards each doing their
part to keep her alive and put her on the thrown. A LICK OF FROST
opens with an accusation in the human courts by Meredith’s Uncle and
King of the Seelie court that several of Merry’s elite guards have raped
a member of his shining court. Merry must protect her faithful guard
from whatever plan her Uncle is brewing while finding a way to become
pregnant and therefore ensure her place on the Unseelie thrown.
Laurell K. Hamilton
fans, the time is here. The wait is over. A LICK OF FROST is
tension-filled sexual promise fulfilled as Merry finally finds the
throne in her grasp. This book has got to be Ms. Hamilton’s best
Meredith Gentry book to-date. A LICK OF FROST has it all. The
sex, violence, pleasure and pain that encompass all the magically
charged Merry books is back again (though maybe more storyline and less
sex than in the first five books), but this time there is also a deeper
look into Merry’s heart and the difficult choices she is forced to make
as a leader of the fey.
This reviewer can’t sing
Laurell K. Hamilton’s praises high enough this time. This may be one of
her shortest books, but it is also one of her best books yet. Ms.
Hamilton manages to weave enough surprises at the end of this book to
leave readers on the edge of their seats waiting to see what will happen
next for Merry and her band of beautiful beaus. If you are wondering if
A LICK OF FROST is worth the purchase price, wonder no more.
This is the book you have been waiting for. Run, do not walk, to get
your copy now. This one is a must read if ever there was one.
