It’s London 1819
and a child is missing. Morgan McAfee, a self confessed Druid is sent
to help the head of London’s Criminal Investigation Department to find
the child. Chief Inspector Lord Lance Dellafield is not a man who
believes in visions and auras. He’s handsome, aristocratic and
condescending, but the sexual tension mounts at their every meeting.
Then when a serial murder terrorises London, he still won’t admit to her
powers. But her emerald eyes just won’t go away and every woman he
meets can’t compare to her. Morgan has to help him if he wants to solve
this case and he will have to acknowledge she does have some kind of
power. Then the murderer stalks Morgan and Lance needs to save her. Is
it time for him to at last admit that a Druid has captured his
heart?
This is a
delightfully, entertaining story that drew this reviewer in on the first
page. This reviewer really liked Ambrose the dog who did a wonderful
job in protecting the heroine and who seemed to be just as mysterious
and magical as Morgan herself. Ms. Stewart draws her readers back in
history to a time when the English police have just gotten established
and Jack the Ripper had already caused havoc in the city. Morgan is a
confident, self-assured woman who is comfortable in her powers and is
not afraid to come out in the open about them. Lance is more of a
worldly type of man and this reviewer felt like hitting him up the side
of the head a few times. However, he does redeem himself and Ms.
Stewart sure knows how to write a very sensual, romantic love scene.
