Jaycee Clark excels in this paranormal romance that is also very much a thriller.  In this story, Reen, a legendary firebird, is an assassin bringing death and destruction where ever her boss says to go.  Saker, of the falcon order, has to work together with her to track and capture The Collector.  The Collector wants women, shifters, especially the rare and beautiful.  He wants to control them and keep them forever.  Reen has a past that she is trying to forget and Saker was once part of that past.  Thinking she was dead he is surprised to find her very much alive.  Saker wants her, they were meant for each other, but first he has to make sure she doesn’t become another rare item for the Collector. 

A quick read of only 88 pages, Jaycee Clark gives her readers a thrilling, chilling tale in which she gets deep into her character’s psyche and draws the reader into a believable world of supernaturals who are having their own problems adjusting to a modern world.   Reen and Saker are like supernatural police, needing to keep their kind under control as some run amok and commit crimes against their own kind.  Ms. Clark also gives her readers a hot sensual, passionate romance between two explosive characters.  Ms Clark writes truly villainous villains that will chill the reader making her cheer the protagonists on.  This reviewer is a long time fan of Ms. Clark’s work and she enjoyed every minute reading this wonderful story and looks forward to more!
