Two brothers.
One dark, one light. One sadistic, one caring. Each equal in power.
Craven Maxwell, the
newly elected Vice President, has plans that have nothing to do with his
campaign promises. Taking control of the United States is just the
beginning. The only person that has a chance of stopping him is his
brother Andrew Gabriel but to do so means risking Victory, the love of his
life.
VAMPIRE
ROYALTY: THE REBELLION by debut author, Ms. Hoffman is a new kind of
vampire tale combining a political intrigue with a love story that spans
generations. From the White House to the English countryside, the reader
is taken along for a wild ride in this tale of two brothers. Craven is
smart, handsome, charismatic and totally amoral. As he considers humans
to be beneath his regard, Craven does not find anything wrong with killing
them to achieve his goals. Allowing Craven to massacre humans for his
pleasure goes against everything Gabriel stands for as he has been working
towards unifying the humans and the porphyrians. Interfering with
Craven’s plans however means risking Victory, the love of his life.
Both brothers are
larger than life in THE REBELLION however the character of Victory
was not fleshed out very well. She does play a major part in the book and
well frankly, she was rather a wimp. Also while THE REBELLION
starts out with a bang towards the middle of the book the plot really
slows down and drags slightly. Well worth reading even though it has not
earned a place on this reviewer's keeper shelf. Be sure to get your copy
