Captured by enemies
when he was just a boy, Riain Cree was nursed back to health by Suzanna de
Viennes. Becoming obsessed with Riain, Suzanna, allying herself with the
demon Raphian, has sworn that nothing will come between her and the man
she loves. All Riain dreams of is to find a way to escape Suzanna’s
obsession and to be with the woman he loves, the sorceress Maeve.
PRINCE OF THE
WIND by Charlotte Boyett-Compo is a very dark tale of one insane
woman’s obsession and the depths she will sink to in order to achieve her
desire. Suzanna is a villainess that readers will love to hate and will
wonder why she was not drowned at birth considering that even her father
recognized her insanity. The things that this woman is capable of are
disquieting and totally disgusting. In her own way, Suzanna is worse than
the demon that she worships.
Riain, on the other
hand starts out as a nice kid everyone loves and amazingly, considering
all he is put through, grows to be a nice man. He is hard when he needs
to be but gentle and kind to all that deserve it. His goodness draws to
him some interesting allies such as the Windweaver and the love of Maeve,
a powerful Sorceress in her own right. Riain has to be one of this
reviewer’s favorite Reapers.
This reviewer
highly recommends PRINCE OF THE WIND to any readers who love
twisted tales of obsession and to any who love Reapers. Get your copy
