Light My Fire

Aisling Grey, is a Guardian, mate to Drake, who is wyvern of the green dragons, a Demon Lord, and she also becomes Prince of Abaddon and a Venediger. Yes, in this helter-skelter adventure, Aisling is being chased by imps who are after her doggie side-kick, Jim, who has eaten their king, a rival dragon clan is trying to kill her, and the dark side is tempting her with power. Drake does all he can to protect her, but as she is pretty upset with him because he had betrayed her, he’s trying to compromise with her to win her back by his side. He is even willing to give up his title of wyvern to keep her safe. Although she is technically immortal, she finds out that there are some things worse than death. She needs a lot of help as she stumbles around not really knowing much about anything and having a fire-breathing hunk on her side is a good thing when war and hell breaks loose.

This is the third in the Aisling Grey series, the first ones are titled: You Slay Me and Fire Me Up. Katie MacAlister has created a world of dragon shifters, demons, imps, sorcerers and other otherworldly creatures, mixed them all up together with a whacky, sympathetic heroine and gives her readers a helter-skelter of a read that will have her biting her nails on one side and laughing out loud on the other. This reviewer was glued to the pages, turning rapidly and enjoying every single word. Drake realizes he needs to compromise somewhat in order to have Aisling by his side. Aisling realizes that she needs to get her information correct before going half-cocked into the next adventure. Ms. MacAlister adds lots of twists and turns to the story and has characters acting in not quite the way the reader would expect to keep the plot alive and exciting. Truly a great read, this reviewer went online right away to pick up the first two books in this series.
