Divine By Mistake

When high school teacher, Shannon Parker goes to an antique auction she doesn’t expect to find herself transfixed on a vase with the picture of a woman who looks exactly like her. Wow is all this reviewer can say after being totally enthralled with the prequel to this wonderful imaginative series from Luna and PC Cast. With each page, the reader gets lost within the world of Parthalon and the magical characters introduced here. This is the prequel to the series and is set 125 years before her first book, Elphame’s Choice, which introduced readers to this exceptional series. Ms. Cast captures the reader’s attention from the beginning. This reviewer could not put Divine by Mistake down all afternoon!

Ms. Cast introduces Shannon Parker to the readers as she is driving to an antique auction, where a vase captures her attention and before she knows it, she is transported to a luxurious temple where everyone seems to think she is the high priestess, Rhiannon. Only one problem, Rhiannon is where Shannon is and traded places with her. This character brings a breath of fresh air to the pages as she figures out why she has to hand fast with a centaur, why Rhiannon did this and right the wrongs of her evil. Yet this reviewer was highly transfixed with Shannon as she worked her way into her Centaur husband’s heart and then had to face a growing evil as well as find her true strength inside herself. With ClanFintan by her side as well as the friends she has made, Shannon is a character that will capture the reader’s heart from the very beginning as you root for her among the many twists and turns PC Cast delivers with panache.

Divine by Mistake is truly an exceptional book that had this reviewer wanting more after the last page is read. Author PC Cast writes with lyrical prose and captures the essence of each character throughout the pages. With the action bursting off the pages, within the first chapter, this reviewer was enchanted to find out that the next in the series, Divine by Choice will be out in a few months! So if you want riveting storytelling, exceptional characters and a lush setting, make sure you grab this series as well as the next few books coming in the next year or so. This reviewer has this author, PC Cast on auto buy from now on. This is truly one of those fantastic books that you will want to read over and over again!
