Mystery

Alex  St. James returns home after a humiliation by her ex-lover to find her neighbor has been murdered.  Her neighbor had asked her earlier for help with some problems she was having at the bank where she worked.  Alex finds out that the lady had been looking into the practices of her bank and had uncovered some discrepancies.  The owner of the bank is not only attractive but very attentive.  Then there is her handsome co-worker who has certainly been giving signals that he is interested.  Alex finds soon finds herself wondering which man should she be dating while at the same time using her connections at Midwest Focus News Magazine to solve the crime.  She also has some personal problems, in the form of her sister who has to move in with her for a while.  When she is finally ready to expose the truth, she finds herself confronting her foe who has a DEADLY INTEREST in her future.

Julie Hyzy has written a very exciting mystery, one that will certainly capture and entertain every true mystery fan.  Her heroine is a strong woman who although is being batted about with a lot of problems from all sides, she’s able to juggle most of them and get everything sorted out.  This reviewer had an idea who the villain was from the beginning, but Ms. Hyzy threw out enough red herrings to give this reviewer the doubts.  The plot moves along fast and is never boring.  The reader will be flipping those pages over to find out what happens next to the poor heroine.  The secondary characters give more depth to the story and do not detract at all from the main characters.  This reviewer enjoyed this story very much and is a big fan of mysteries.  This is one author to watch and this reviewer will certainly be sure to get the first book and consequent ones.  A great read!
