When Abby Renton
passed away, her daughter, Bailey Taylor, took possession of her house.
However, neighbor Jack McBride did not expect to find Bailey on her front
porch in her underwear late at night. After Jack takes care of her that
first night, he cannot keep himself away from her and cannot stop his
growing attraction or affection for her. Jack learns that while Bailey is
reluctant to completely trust him or allow herself any emotional
attachment to him, she is more than accepting of having him in her bed.
As confused as Jack is about that, he is more confused as to why someone
keeps sending Bailey emails from his address containing details of their
private trysts. While Jack tries to prove himself to Bailey and Bailey
tries to gain control of her emotions, a mysterious pervert will stop at
nothing to keep the two apart.
The RECKLESS
BEHAVIOR exhibited by Bailey and Jack is nothing short of sweltering!
The author brilliantly portrays Bailey as a woman who has dealt with a lot
of personal tragedy in a relatively short period of time. First, Bailey
lost her mother and then went through a divorce, now she is trying to find
herself as an individual and as a woman again. Jack makes a wonderful
counterpart to Bailey. He was close friends with Bailey’s mother and has
also lost in love and now finds himself unable to resist coming to her
rescue as someone stalks her and unable to resist her disarmingly
assertive sexual requests. This reviewer particularly enjoyed the
suspense involved in trying to expose the stalker; Ms. Burnett did a
spectacular job of making everyone look like a suspect in typical thriller
fashion! This reviewer cannot wait to see more from Ms. Burnett!
