Gregory Brabant had
a unique sense of humor in life and death did not change anything. At the
reading of Gregory’s will, his sister-in-law Anna Shrewsbury is expecting
him to leave her childhood home. Gregory’s business partner Zachary Quinn
is expecting to receive the rest of their business. Neither is prepared
when they find out that he left each one what the other wanted and in
order to get what they truly want they must spend an entire week
together. During their time together, Anna and Zach realize that their
desires are more similar than either has ever admitted! As Zach stalks
Anna like prey and Anna tries to keep Zach at arms length, they repeatedly
question the motives Gregory had for tormenting them this way.
With vivid memories
and palpable sexual tension, this book is a captivating read. As the
story unravels, the reader is taken further into the six-year history
between Zach and Anna, revealing PAST LIES each has told in order
to protect themselves. At times, this reviewer was torn between who to
believe and who to dislike. Surprisingly, Gregory Brabant, even though he
is dead when the book begins turns out to be a protagonist since it is
because of his wishes that Zach and Anna are in this situation. With only
a few peripheral characters that are mostly villainous, it is easy to keep
focused on the push and pull relationship of the main characters. PAST
LIES is a book you simply will not want to put down.
