Charlie Aldrich is
starting over in the town she grew up in. It is not going to be easy
though, her father, James ruined many lives here while he served as mayor
and in the end, he committed suicide here. Fearing that everyone would
take their hatred of James out on her, Charlie tentatively reintroduces
herself to the locals. However, she cannot shake the memory of one
local. Beau Jessup’s image is burned in her memory from childhood, he
worked as a groundskeeper at her family’s mansion, and Charlie has never
forgotten the way she felt gazing at his gorgeous body in the summer
heat. Her new job gives her the chance to get to know the man behind the
fantasies. As Charlie and Beau try to move out of the shadows of their
past, someone is determined to make Charlie pay for the sins of her
father.
ONE HOT SUMMER
is one hot read! This is a book you will want to read again and again.
The lead characters are intriguing people that open up more with every
page as they realize all the misconceptions they have had about each other
and that the truth is more wonderful than they could have imagined. The
emotion displayed in the more tense or traumatic moments brought a tear to
this reviewer’s eye, while the passion between Charlie and Beau will bring
an impish smile to your face and leave you begging for more. Ms. Asbury
is a brilliant writer who brings the characters to life with her colorful
script. ONE HOT SUMMER is a must read! If you do not get enough
of the characters with ONE HOT SUMMER then keep going with book two
SOUTHERN MOON, which takes the reader into the hearts and minds of
Mason Aldrich and Rain Jessup.
