Llewellyn is sent
by King Branagh to the north to meet Frostbone, the ice-demon king.
Whispers and rumours are abounding. All signs point to the return of the
Mouse King and this could mean more war, more suffering, more tears.
After Llewellyn lost his brother at the last battle, his nightmares rage
through his sleep. So, he sets off, but on the way he finds a wounded
d'ark t'uath, a woman warrior of the hidden valley. He waits with her
until she has healed so as to bring her back to her people. Her tribe
have no need for men except for procreation and Tamara finds herself
falling in love with the tall, handsome, caring elf. Now Tamara and
Llewellyn need to learn acceptance of each other’s beliefs and join forces
to ward off the new dangers threatening Hirvernia.
This story is the
sequel to ELF SONG, but can be read seperately. Now, this reviewer
really enjoyed this story. Ms. Winston has written a great story with two
larger than life characters that the reader will fall in love with. They
both come from different beliefs and need to overcome much. She has built
a great world and gives her readers an exciting plot. The sensual love
scenes are an added plus to this wonderful tale. The reader will be
pulled in from the first page and taken on a fantastical story with elves,
fairies, demons, dragons and other fantasy characters. Ms. Winston pulls
it all together and gives the reader a very satisfactory reading time.
This is a story well worth every cent. This reviewer has always enjoyed
Ms. Winston’s work and this has been no exception.
