On what should be
the happiest day of her life, Jen is beset by worries starting with being
unable to find one of her shoes, discovering that her groom is rather
tipsy and ending with meeting his secret first wife that looks like an
underwear model. Convinced that their marriage won’t last, she decides to
ask for a divorce on the second day of their marriage. But getting
divorced isn’t as easy as Jen thinks, especially as she is still madly in
love with her husband!
FIT TO BE TIED
by Karen Kendall is a tongue in cheek look at how not to get married or
divorced. With tight pacing, realistic characters that easily become the
reader’s friends and humor in just the right places, this reviewer
recommends FIT TO BE TIED to any bride to be as a great release
from the trauma of planning a wedding.
In FIT TO BE
TIED, Ms Kendall has done a wonderful job of all of the characters.
Through reading a self-help book, Jen convinces herself that her marriage
to Tom won’t last and that she is saving them a lifetime of pain by
divorcing immediately. After all both of them are from homes where their
parents are either already divorced or are in the process of doing so.
Though she is being extremely logical, Jen has forgotten that logic
doesn’t have a lot to do with human emotions. Tom, her soon to be ex
husband, makes a wonderful hero. He doesn’t want the divorce yet he isn’t
going to fight her about it. What amazed this reader is how through it
all, Tom was there to support Jen emotionally if she needed it. In this
reader’s opinion, he has what it takes to make a wonderful husband. And
the secondary characters are just a hoot also!
