When NHL player
Jason Mitchell is traded to the team of his dreams, the New York Blades,
he doesn’t even imagine leaving his dog Stanley behind. The only problem
is that Stanley being a totally untrained Newfoundland is a hazard in New
York City. Luckily Jason runs into dog trainer Delilah Gould while out on
one of their attempted walks. Now Delilah has two new students: one
gorgeous Newfie and one hunky hockey player.
CHASING STANLEY
by Deirdre Martin is a delightful tale of two people that are total
opposites and one loveable hunk of a dog. Delilah, owner of Bed &
Biscuit, has always been much more comfortable with animals than with any
human. Suffering from social anxiety, her idea of the perfect evening is
watching a movie at home with her three dogs, along with any boarders she
might have at the moment. Jason, new to New York, likes to go out, meet
people and have a good time. And Stanley just loves them both.
CHASING STANLEY
is a perfect book to while away the hours of a blustery spring day. Ms.
Martin has not only graced us with the perfect leading lady and man but
has also brought us some secondary characters that are real, well,
characters. From Eric, Jason’s twin that is sure his duty in life is to
needle Jason to Sy Gould, Delilah’s father who is marrying Bambi yet is
still in love with fighting Mitzi, to various members of the New York
Blades. This is one book not to be missed. Be sure to pick up your copy
