Jessica Randall had
made a pact with Gabe Dumont before leaving New Zealand to study art in
L.A. and now it is time for her to deliver on the promise. She in love
with another man, but he’s married to a friend. She must marry Gabe Dumont
and give him an heir, now that he’s fulfilled his promise to save her
family home from the developers who were eager to change it.
Gabe is a man who
appears to have no tenderness or passion so the deal seems as cold and
calculating as the man. When Jessica learns the man she has loved for many
years has left his wife, her best friend, problems arise.
Secrets, mistrust
and hidden agendas are compounded by another woman who wants Gabe and the
lifestyle that marriage to him would bring.
BOUND BY
MARRIAGE is a complex tale of
love and betrayal with a layer of distrust and jealousy added to the mix.
Anyone of these combined would pull even the strongest relationship apart.
The plot is multifaceted with five main players that weave a web of deceit
around each other that complicates all their lives. The characters are
interesting and easy to picture, bringing them to life in the reader’s
minds. An artist and a rancher are sufficiently different enough to clash
but it also brings passion as a way to ignite desire. The story is easy to
follow and the conflict was interesting. Dialogue was well done and the
tone and style had a good energy although there were some surprises in
some of the characters actions. The ending was very satisfying making it
clear that all problems and differences had been solved.
