Laney
MCCain has loved Galen O’Sullivan for years but he has always just seen
her as the little sister of his best friend. And the arrival of Ishmael
and Ivy Grubb squatting on his land doesn’t help. There is now another
woman in close vicinity. But it would appear that Galen is finally coming
to see Laney as a woman, a woman he could possibly love. Suddenly
something comes between them just when Galen is discovering what has been
right under his nose…something that will tear them apart seemingly
forever.
Another wonderful offering by Bethany House,
BITTERSWEET
is a page turning tale of a young couple torn
apart just on the eve of finding their happiness. Bitterness must be
overcome with the help of God’s good grace. BITTERSWEET contains a
wonderful life lesson of forgiveness. This reader was impressed with
Laney’s unconditional love for her fellow brothers and sisters in God.
This reader isn’t sure she would be as forgiving and as giving. Such a
wonderful story! Galen is a handsome, caring man. When is father died he
took over the man’s roll in his younger brother’s life, supporting them
and their mother to the best of his ability. And letting the Grubb family
squat on a part of his land that he isn’t using is a prime example of the
love for each other that God wishes us to have, even when that love is
taken advantage of. Author Cathy Marie Hake has penned a scenario that
makes the reader think, “Could I be that loving, charitable and
forgiving?”
Don’t miss
out on BITTERSWEET. This is a must read for inspirational readers
especially those who like this genre set in historical time. This reader
was completely enthralled and could hardly put the book down until the
very last page was turned. A sad, yet satisfying ending completes this
wonderful tale that is just too wonderful to be given justice to in this
review.
