Paul
Jacobson wakes in a strange place…everyday. He can’t remember how he got
here. And to make it even worse he finds himself accused of murdering a
man who was suing him for theft. A man whose body Paul finds stuffed in a
trash chute of the retirement home he awoke in.
Now
Paul must investigate this crime because the police are sure they have
their man and are not interested in looking any deeper while struggling
with his daily memory loss. How can a man who can’t remember yesterday
solve such a terrible crime?
Sit
back and get set to giggle. RETIREMENT HOMES
ARE MURDER is such an amusing romp
that it could be sub-genre as a comedy. Maybe our author Mike Befeler
didn’t mean for it to, but it struck this reader’s funny bone. Paul meets
two residents who he can’t remember at breakfast. One a very helpful
retired lawyer named Meyer and one a not so helpful…um… this reader isn’t
sure what Henry did. But Henry is a hoot! The one-liners and sarcastic
comments kept this reader smiling. Mr Befeler must have an amazing
sense of humour.
Paul,
with the help of Meyer, sets out to clear his name by finding the real
killer. But how can he when he can’t remember his findings from the day
before? This reader is very impressed with this unique plot. Paul is a
character that this reader sympathized with. He is a nice older gentleman
who is sure he has been set up, but can’t even remember what happened the
day before. He is crystal clear on what happened 5 years ago, but
yesterday is a blank. Paul finds one solution to his memory problem, this
reviewer won’t let the cat out of the bag as to what it is, but it is a
very amusing situation that is well worth the anticipation and you will
just have to buy the book to find out what it is!
Well
written, entertaining, and a quick, unable to put down, read is how this
reviewer describes RETIREMENT HOMES ARE
MURDER. Very highly recommended read
for all readers out there, it is a hoot!
