Contemporary Romance

Eliza Crowley has decided to give her life to God and is currently living in a dorm at the convent where she plans to become a nun when she finishes her teaching degree.  She decides on one of her last nights of freedom to visit a local pub and ponder her future to be sure she is making right decision about her future.  She has no real doubts that the sisterhood is the right place for her, she has known for a long time marriage and children were not in her future.

While at the pub, she meets up with an old friend’s older brother and some of his buddies as they spend an evening catching up on old times.  Eliza is intrigued by one of them, Nate Grady who while older, seems interested in her and her plans for the future.  Nate truly plans to walk away with her friendship, but finds himself falling in love with Eliza.

Eliza and Nate are great main characters that will draw readers in from the first page.  A woman who finds her greatest inspirations from Mother Theresa and Jane Eyre is sure to be a winner with women who want only true happiness for the heroine of this novel.  Nate is a seasoned man, who has experience and knows only that he loves Eliza.  He knows she will have to leave the convent in order to marry, but he doesn’t know just how her family will react when she leaves to marry a divorced man, more than ten years older than her.

Tara Taylor Quinn has created a masterpiece with THE NIGHT WE MET.  She opens her novel with the first meeting between Eliza and Nate and takes us through their courtship, marriage, separation, and the things that brought them back together.  This talented author has packed 282 pages with enough emotion to bring tears to reader’s eyes, and leave them willing Eliza to fight for the man she loves.  The drama of their lives leaves the reader reeling, for a couple who seem perfectly suited, the things that are not apparent to their neighbors and friends comes across letting the reader know that things aren’t always what they seem.

The sixth novel in Harlequin’s Everlasting Love series is a winner with the reader.  This novel deserves to sit on every reader’s shelf as a keeper.  I highly recommend all readers of Women’s Fiction, Romance and series romance grab their copies today and prepare to be taken for the emotional ride of their life.  This reviewer picked this novel up one snowy morning and found herself spellbound until the very last page, when she dried her eyes and wondered if there really is a perfect life.
