Sent to the
Scottish Highlands to marry the laird of the Sinclair, Emily Hamilton
discovers that hatred of the English runs deep and that her only friend is
the laird’s sister Cait. So when the laird of Balmoral kidnaps Cait to
redress a wrong done to his clan, Emily manages to ensure that she is also
taken. Besides Lachlan, the Balmoral laird, fascinates in her in a way
that she has never experienced before.
As laird of his
clan, Lachlan’s duty is to marry a femwolf to ensure that his children
will be Chrechte and fit to lead the clan. So why is this mere human, and
English to boot, awakening desires that he was not aware
existed?
Take a bit of
Scottish Highland, a dab of a plain spoken Englishwoman, a drop of
intrigue, mix well and then fold in the a race of shifters and you have
Lucy Monroe’s MOON AWAKENING. Readers will be grabbed by the
strong characters, the lush scenery and the savage time and will not be
able to come up for air until the satisfying conclusion. It is all too
easy to see why Ms. Monroe is causing quite the stir among the lovers of
the paranormal.
This reader
especially enjoyed watching the relationship between Emily and Lachlan
unfold. He is a strong leader and is unaccustomed to being stood up too,
especially by a mere slip of a girl. It was amusing to see just how long
the answer ‘Because I am the laird” would suffice. Emily, though a
nobleman’s daughter, would never be considered a Lady. She is too hot
tempered and plain spoken. She is also tender hearted to a fault and
willing to place herself in danger to try to save her friend. These two
are prefect for each other yet the path to their discovering this fact is
a delight to read.
This reviewer
highly recommends MOON AWAKENING to any reader who enjoys
historical novels set in the Scottish Highlands and to readers who love
the genre of paranormal romance. Rush out and get your copy today!
