Contemporary Romance

New Zealand business man Connor Bannerman, has built himself a home on Waiheke Island, a short ferry ride from Auckland. He craves privacy, so when his elderly neighbor put his house up for sale, Connor had wanted to buy it, at any price. All his offers had been refused, and now he had a new neighbor, one who still would not sell him the house. When Connor finds his privacy has been invaded by Eve Drumm, a TV presenter turned gossip columnist, he is angry. He will do almost anything to get rid of her, despite realizing the persona he thought she was is nothing like her in real life.

Eve’s first meeting with the taciturn Connor, does not go well, she too wants privacy. A grumpy neighbor is not what she wants or needs, despite his charismatic good looks and the feeling he is special. When their paths keep crossing and their privacy is constantly invaded, they reluctantly join forces. Eve insists she does not want anything from him, but Connor finds it hard to trust, especially when he has got something to hide.

MELTING THE ICY TYCOON is a great story, with numerous twists and turns as they try to stay out of the spotlight and away from the press. The sexual tension builds as they begin to find they have more in common than they expected. The characters are very engaging and realistic, making them memorable for the reader.

An intriguing plot with a dark secret agenda slowly evolves, and like the ice that melts around Connor’s heart it is slowly revealed. Tension is high throughout, as local politics have also become part of the story, with dirty secrets coming out. The action is easy to follow with interesting conflict scenes. The tone was always consistent with the story, making it a page turner and a very satisfying read with smooth scene transitions. The idea was fresh and refreshing with its descriptive prose and background scenery where you can almost smell the brine. The love scenes are tender and filled with emotion, depth and energy, as love blooms in icy ground. For this reviewer a wonderful romance with a stunning climax, one most women will dream about.
